Happy Thanksgiving to my team, family, friends, and ghoulish fans. Let’s all give thanks for; our loved ones and all the blessings we have to go along with them. ~Jamie Pearce Author/Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations Many people in the paranormal field have at some point in their career had a spirit attachment. I myself have been through this.
There are different ways that will rid one-self of a spirit attachment. Meditation and prayer are one, sea salt baths are another, smudging (burning sage), and spiritual blessings. If the above do not help, sometimes professional guidance or help mist be sought out. It just depends on how strong the attachment is. www.patternreleaseenergetics.com ~Jamie Pearce Author/Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations Jamie Pearce, author of the hit paranormal book series, Historic Haunts, is also part of the Northeast Florida Scottish Games. This past Saturday the NEFL Scottish Games was part of the Jacksonville Beach Celtic Festival which celebrated our Irish and Scottish heritage. The weather wasn't the best but there was a fantastic turn out and everyone had a wonderful time. What is the next big event? The 20th anniversary of the NEFLSG in Green Cove Springs Florida, February 28th, 2015. In the 1890s mourning someone’s death was taken seriously. It was much more detailed that funerals are today. For instance friends would stay up to watch the deceased loved one and make sure they were prepared for the funeral. This was so the grieving family members would not have to do this. Black crape was tied to the door or to the doorbell with a white ribbon to inform visitors of the death in the family. Hearses weren’t used in Victorian times but funeral carriages pulled by horses to bring the deceased loved one to their final resting place. The carriages also wouldn’t not take a direct route to the cemetery because they were afraid their loved ones spirits would return so they would take indirect routes to the burial sites. There was even a certain length of time a family should mourn over the loss of their loved ones, especially widows. Woman would wear a black bonnet with heavy black crape over their faces for a minimum of three months and after that time should wear the crape pushed to the back over the back of their necks. They would still need to wear it for the duration of the year, but would continue to wear working dress for a total of two years. Widowers only had to wear a black suit for a year with a deep weed upon his hat. Heaven forbid when in mourning, would you go to a public function. You had to wait at least a year for that, it just wasn’t proper. These are just a few of the customs in the Victorian era and most of these are unheard of today. I have to admit, I like many of the old ways and it is one of the reasons I say I was born a century too late. Or maybe one life time too many. ~Jamie Pearce Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations Everyone knows battlefields, houses, and buildings can be haunted. We all also know that objects can be haunted or have spirit attachments as well. However, can clothes be haunted too?
Well, more and more stories of jackets, dresses, and other articles of clothing have some sort of attachment as well. Could this be because more and more people are shopping at thrift stores because the “vintage” look is in and is more Eco friendly? I have to admit, I love vintage clothing all of all kinds. I have my own style so buying used clothes doesn’t faze me, as long as it fits and can be washed, and suits my style, I am happy. I have yet to be the recipient of a haunted piece of clothing, but I do have a few pieces I wouldn’t mind attaching to after I die. There have been a few people that have come to me about a dress or a hat haunted by a deceased relative and honestly it doesn’t surprise me one bit. If you love the piece and if you want to release the spirit, try washing the garment in sea salt water or even sage the item. If this doesn’t work you can either keep the piece and deal with the spirit or remove the item all together. However, if you give it away, let the recipients know that is might come with a previous owner. ~Jamie Pearce Founder Historic Haunts Investigations We all know about haunted items and they can be anything from; mirrors, dolls, music boxes, jewelry, and even furniture. There are no limitations of what can or may be haunted. There are certain items that are well known haunted items and I have experienced a few of them myself. Robert the Doll is one of them and he resides in a museum in Key West and was featured in my first book, Historic Haunts Florida. The mirror at the Myrtles Plantation is known to be haunted by the young children and their mother who were poisoned many years ago. This story was featured in my 2nd book Historic Haunts of the South. The Dibbuk Box is another thing that according to Jewish folklore is said to be haunted by an evil entity and that is something I do not mess with in any way, shape, or form. One of the most famous haunted items is the doll known as Annabelle who is said to be haunted by a demon and was bought in a thrift store. She looks like a Raggedy Ann doll but is now in an enclosed case due to its evil antics. There are just a few well known items that are haunted here in the United States but there are so many more. Most often times you cannot tell just by looking at them. If you are told that something is haunted by a negative spirit, it is best to just leave it along. They are not to be played with, especially if you don’t know what you are doing or how to deal with it. ~Jamie Pearce Author/Founder Historic Haunts Investigation Many of you heard of or have seen a UFO but there are just as many who have never heard of a USO. USO stands for Unidentified Submerged Objects. It is similar to a UFO but it comes out of the ocean or large body of water. Many believe there are underwater bases where they USOs come and go from.
Shag Harbour in Novia Scotia is a popular location where USO’s have been spotted. Diving expeditions have taken place looking for the underwater bases and nothing has been discovered. There are also bases reported of the coast of California, Australia, Norway, Spain, and Scotland. We may never know all the answers to the hundreds of questions about USOs but we are learning more and more from a superior minded being. Ever since I was little, I always knew someone was with me. I always felt like someone was watching over me and went pretty much everywhere I did. A few years ago I inquired to a medium and friend and found out who it was. However, I already had a feeling who it was and he passed years before I was even born. The medium said with no knowledge of who I thought it would be or of my family history, “He has to do with your middle name”. I knew it! I had always thought that it was my grandpa and my middle name is in honor of him. He name was Leon and my middle name is Lee. It was comforting, exciting, and unbelievable to hear. It makes me feel good to know that he is always with me and I hope I make him proud. ~Jamie Pearce Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations |
