For more info on the event, check out the website http://ameliaislandbookfestival.com/ Author of Ghosts of Old Louisville and owner Ghosts of Old Louisville Ghost Tours recently did a book review on Historic Haunts Florida by Jamie Roush Pearce. "In Historic Haunts Florida, Jamie Roush shares a wealth of personal ghost hunting experience as she roams the state in search of paranormal delights. She takes the reader on a tour of places such as eerie inns, haunted hotels, and frightening fortresses and introduces a lively assortment of colorful characters from the past. Equal parts history and ghostly encounters, it is a fun and informative read." For more info on David's work please check out his website at http://www.ghostsofoldlouisville.com/main.html Jimmy is from Miami Florida and had his first paranormal experience after his grandparents passed away. He says things started to happen when we were talking or thinking about things they did not like, water glasses would explode and things would come of the wall or you would have your things moved. Then when his sister passed, he had two experiences at his mom's house, and in the hallway where there was no breeze, he felt a very cold breeze come down the hall and go right through him. Then when his mom passed, in her house, the same things happened again, and he still feels her today, she moves the shower curtain and silly things to make me laugh, she always did that. City Haunts LLC launches their brand new ghost tours, Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours starting May 31st, 2013. We are excited to promote the tours and show off their brand new brochure. The tour will take you to the more haunted places in the Queen City. Good luck Charlotte Haunts! Historic Haunts Investigations was invited to investigate the old St. Johns County Jail in St. Augustine Florida this past Saturday night, April 13th, 2013. We did experience some activity and batteries in equipment drained quickly. We captured one strange orb that has a defined outline and emits its own light. This could very well be a spirit orb instead of dust or a bug. The old jail was featured in Jamie Roush Pearce's first book Historic Haunts Florida. The chapter on the jail tells about the histories and the resident ghosts and even tells the story of Pearce's own personal experience here. Besides working on her second and third books, Pearce is now launching a brand new riding ghost tour in Charlotte North Carolina. The new tour is called Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours. There will be two completely different tours, Charlotte Haunts Riding Ghost Tour which is great for all ages and the Charlotte Haunts Riding Haunted Pub Tour which will be for guests 21 years and older. If you are visiting the St. Augustine area make sure you investigate the St. Johns County Old Jail with 2Ghouls in St. Augustine and if you are going to Charlotte starting in June make sure you check out Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours. You can't start a new tour without their very own logo. Talented graphic designer and Historic Haunts Investigation team member, Deric Pearce has designed the new tour their own logo. Great job Deric! Deric Pearce is a graduate of Flagler College where he majored in fine art and graphic design. Deric is available for freelance work so if you or your company or team are needing some amazing graphic designed, email him at galahad2@comcast.net Get your tickets soon for Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours starts next month. The inaugural tour is May 31st at 7pm. A 1.5 hour riding ghost tours takes you around the Queen City hearing ghostly stories from some of the most haunted places in Charlotte. Then at 9pm is the 2.5 hour riding Haunted Pub Tour. Ride around in comfort to 3 or 4 different haunted pubs and have some spirits with the spirits and learn about some of Charlotte's most haunted pubs and their surrounding areas. Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours is brought to you by City Haunts LLC which was started by paranormal investigator and author Jamie Roush Pearce who founded Historic Haunts Investigations in 2004. Pearce wanted to share some of the unknown ghostly stories of the Queen City from an investigator's point of you. Two new tours guides have been chosen for the mission of taking guests around Charlotte with a passion for the paranormal. Lanson and Joyce are both very excited about giving guests a tour of their fair city and telling them about the darker side of Charlotte. A few of the stories from Charlotte Haunts Ghost Tours may even be in Pearce's next Historic Haunts book, Historic Haunts of the South. Make sure to like Charlotte Haunts on Facebook at www.facebook.com/charlottehauntsghosttours and keep up to date on upcoming events or even experiences from the tours. BOOK REVIEW: HISTORIC HAUNTS FLORIDA
“One of the, er, "quirky" things about us ghosthunters is that, even when we think of vacation, beaches, and sunshine, we think of... the dead. Jamie Roush, has put together the ultimate guide for parapsychologists in Paradise, or anyone with an interest in historic hauntings. "Historic Haunts Florida" has everything you would expect: creaky lighthouses, drafty bed and breakfasts, haunted marinas. And all of our old favorites are here, including the Key West ghosts of the Hemingway home and the never-fail tale of Robert the Doll. But Roush is an insider, and she brings also brings the reader some great stories from the case files of her own creeping around, including stories of the Versace mansion, St. Augustine's aviation graveyard , and the supernatural residue of the Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 34, where a cabin fire took the lives of the entire crew during a launch test in January 1967. Part of this section includes Roush's recollection of standing on a nearby causeway when the shuttle Challenger exploded. And it is this first hand, narrative style, by one who has lived and breathed the ghosts of Florida her entire adult life, which makes this book such an engaging read, even for seasoned investigators. The blend of history and paranormal investigation and introspection is perfect. Highly recommended.” Find out more about Ursula’s books and tours at www.chicagohauntings.com Author and Ghost Tour owner Charles Adams III recently received a copy of Historic Haunts Florida by Jamie Roush Pearce and shared his comments about the book. "I like how you broke up the stories with different fonts and images. As for the tales themselves, they are told in a lyrical, concise fashion that held my attention from beginning to end. I learned a lot. Thanks much!" |
