Frenchman's Pass, Aruba

6/26/2014

Frenchman’s Pass is the area known as Spanish Lagoon and is a narrow stretch between coral cliffs. Legend goes that in the 1600’s French pirates encountered Indians and a fight took place. The area was then named “Franse Pas” in Papiamento means “Frenchman’s Pass”.
Many believe the Indians who died during this encounter are the ones who haunt this area. Many believe the sounds heard at night are the cries of the Indians who died in that fight.
While passing through this area, it has an over whelming and heavy feeling. Many believe it is the souls of the Indians who died many years ago trying to relay their story.

A Final Goodbye

6/22/2014

A very dear friend of mine passed away in May of 2008. She was a wonderful and loyal friend to many and was only 24 years of age.

We used to have long talks at work about everything. One day we got on the subject of ghosts. She said she thought she believed in them but wasn't really sure since she had never seen one. I jokingly told her if she died before me to make sure she came back to haunt me, then she would have proof that ghosts really do exist. We laughed it off and went about our work. Another time we were talking about her trip to Walt Disney World and her love for Tinker Bell. I told her when she died she was going to turn into a pixie. She laughed and said "I probably will!"

The day she died all of us were heart broken. It was so unexpected and didn't really know what to say or how to handle it, except to be there for each other. That night I was lying in bed saying my prayers and asking God to please watch over her family and help them get through this trying time. Then I said, "Julia, I will miss you so much!" As I said that a pink ball of light slowly appeared on my ceiling and I instantly knew it was her. I took at it and said, "Hey Julia, I told you you would turn into a pixie." The light got very bright and moved off to the right and appeared to go out the window. I knew that it was Julia's way of saying goodbye.

Since her death, SO MANY have reported hearing her voice and her whistle. SO MANY have felt her presence and even received a mysterious text message from her cell phone several days after her phone was shut off.
This is my personal experience of Julia's ghost and also my way of saying ghosts DO exist!!!
In loving memory of Julia Saunders.

The Haunted California Lighthouse, Aruba

6/19/2014

Picture
The California Lighthouse is named after the S.S. California which sank off the coast before the lighthouse was constructed in 1910. It guards the area called “Hudishibana” near the northwestern tip of the island in the Caribbean Sea.
Many believe the lighthouse is haunted by a former light keeper. Others report seeing a ghost ship off the coast which sank at sunset before the light was built. They say to watch for the sudden green flash just as the sun completely disappears at sunset. They believe it is caused by the ship, others say it is just an effect caused by Mother Nature.
Another person who may be haunting the light is a man nicknamed “Superman” by the locals. He climbed to the top of the light and jumped to his death. Many believe his lost soul is still here. Since the incident, the lighthouse has been closed to visitors.
While we were here we didn’t really get any abnormal EMF readings but the compass gave a very strange reading. I know we are only 18 or so miles from the equator but the compass went nuts spinning around. It should have given us a proper reading, and it did when we were away from the lighthouse.

Bushiribana Gold Mine Ruins, Aruba

6/16/2014

Picture
Bushiribana Gold Mine Ruins produced ore from the nearby hills during the 19th century gold rush in Aruba. Gold wasn’t discovered until 1824 in Aruba and ended up producing over 3 million pounds of gold.
This was all started when 12 year old Willem Rasmijn found a precious rock while herding his sheep.
While we were here we pulled out the EMF meter thinking it was the perfect place because there is NO power running into the ruins so there should be NO EMF.
As we walked and explored the ruins we were getting crazy EMF readings. From 0 to 500 milligauss in a matter of seconds then it would shoot back to 0 without moving the meter and inch. We found no explanation or rhyme or reason for the bizarre readings.

Balishi Goldmine Ruins, Aruba

6/10/2014

In the 1400 and 1500s, explorers explored the Caribbean looking for wealth. As island was discovered and was named “Oro Ruba” meaning “red gold”. It is now known as Aruba.
The Balishi Goldmine Ruins are located at the tip of the Spanish Lagoon but to get there you have to travel through Frenchman’s Pass.
Many believe the spirits of some of the Indian who died there when attacked by pirates looking for wealth in the 1600s still haunted the ruins. Some believe some of the miners may still be here as well guarding their treasure.

Tour guide Patrick Schwab shared much of his knowledge about the ship and while on the tour, a couple of strange anomalies were captured. (The shadow in the one photo is of Jamie Pearce and not a ghost.)
Your next trip to Charleston, make sure to hear the history of this amazing vessel and hear the tales of some of the men who are still aboard her. http://www.yorktownghosttours.com/

During the drive to this fair city, Pearce did research about the inn and found out, the place is haunted!
Using some equipment during her stay, she didn't experience anything paranormal but did interview several employees of the inn and they had some stories to tell.
This is going to be a location featured in one of Pearce's upcoming books!
