Author/Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations, Jamie Pearce cut 13 inches of hair off yesterday and is donating it to Locks of Love. Pearce's hair was so thick the stylist said there should be enough hair to make two children's wigs. Pearce stated that she will be growing it so she can do it again. "No more mermaid hair for now, but it will grow out!" Historic Haunts Investigations founder and author, Jamie Pearce recently did an event in Ocala Florida called Paranormal Reality Experience in Ocala Florida. With some of the top names in the paranormal field, it was a great experience for guests to learn more about the subject. It was held at the historic and haunted Marion Theatre. It was a great night for everyone and learning so much about a fascinating topic. Jamie Pearce, Founder of Historic Haunts Investigations and team member Deric Pearce got into the Marion Theatre on January 24th, 2015 and interviewed several staff members about the building being haunted before the team's evening investigation. Many stories were told by staff members about voices, apparitions, doors slamming, and foot steps being heard. The Historic Haunts team unfortunately didn't experience anything paranormal while they were here, but ghosts do not perform on queue. What is it like to attend the 2nd oldest college in the country? My ancestors (10th great aunt and uncle) King William III and Queen Mary II signed a charter for a college to be founded in 1693. Original plans date back to 1618 but due to several “Indian Uprisings” things kept getting delayed. The most beautiful building at the College of William and Mary is the Sir Christopher Wren building which was built in 1695 and in the chapel room is the burial site (entombed under the floor) are two more of my ancestors; Sir John Randolph (my 9th great grand uncle) and Peyton Randolph (my 1st cousin 10 times removed), along with several others. The building burned down three times and was rebuilt each time inside the original walls. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler, and James Monroe all attended here. Very few other colleges, if any, can say they had that many future presidents attend the universities. In 1928 John D. Rockefeller teamed up with the great Dr. W.A.R. Goodwin and grandly restored the building to its 18th century glory (the last time it was rebuilt). To walk these halls and the campus grounds put me in tuned with my ancestors and made me so proud. This college is such a great piece of American history, it even had to put a hold on classes due to the British invading the town in the 1770’s. Needless to say, there are many spirits here on campus, but if you are wanting to hear more details about that, you will have to pick up a copy of Historic Haunts of the South II. ~Jamie Pearce Author/Founder Historic Haunts Investigations Ed Warren "If you look at a fan and it's standing still, you can see the propellers very easily. But, if that fan starts up you can't see anything—it's invisible. Spirits are on that different vibrational field. They're all around us right now but you can't see them. But if you were like Lorraine, you could see them clairvisually, hear them claiaudioally."
I can't. And it wouldn't pay for me to do that because as an investigator people would think I'm a little odd seeing ghosts flying around when they couldn't see anything. So, I have to see it, I have to feel it, I have to hear it, I have to record it before I accept it. But, mediums and clairvoyants are very necessary to us because they tell us immediately if something is there. I wouldn't know—I could go into a building for a month and not know if there is something really there. I could interview the people, and maybe through my knowledge I could tell if something is there, but the clairvoyant is the draw. The spirits are drawn to a medium/clairvoyant like a moth is drawn to a flame. Many times we use three or four clairvoyants in one place. We take them into a house one-at-a-time, they don't know where they're going, what the case is about, etc. And if they all tell me the same thing that they see a woman spirit in a certain room or a man or a child, then I know that we're on the right track. I do think scientifically, we do have scientists working with us, and I think theologically and scientifically. There are organizations of atheists, so-called skeptical investigators that say, “There is no proof scientifically that God exists, that spirits exist that miracles occur.” That's ridiculous, there's all kinds of proof. In [the Occult Museum] we have hundreds of items, we have thousands of cases between here and the other buildings out there that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the supernatural exists and the pre-to-natural exists. When I say `pre-to-natural' I'm talking about negative and `supernatural' is positive. We have filmed the white Lady of Easton. We have filmed poltergeists, attacks on people, ghosts and we have taken many pictures of ghosts. We work with any clergy that their religion teaches love of God and love of your fellow man. We are not stupid enough to think that because we are Catholics that we are the only religion saved—that's what the problem is with Ireland is today—and a lot of other places. We work with all people of all faiths. We have thousands of pictures of ghosts. And I'm not talking about filmy ectoplasmic type material; I'm talking about spirits that are as clear as you and I. You ask us for evidence, we'll give you that evidence. We proved in a court of law in 1989 that a woman and her young child driven out of her house by ghosts. She lived in Hebron, Connecticut. We went into Rockville court and we won the case. The Realtor that leased her house was suing her for $2,000. She begged us to go into the house and to get some evidence that would prove that there really were ghosts. Now, you don't walk into a court of law and saw, “Well judge, there was ghosts there.”—You have to have evidence. In any court of law they use photographs, recordings and credible witnesses as evidence—that's what we use. We won the case, we set a precedent here in the United States. Scientists would say, “you didn't prove a thing, because you didn't take that ghost and put it in a bottle so we can open him up and examine him.” That's stupid. They're saying that scientifically that you have to prove that God exists, that ghosts exist, there is no such thing you can't get scientific in a supernatural world. So, if we can prove in a court of law that ghosts exist and haunted houses exist I think that's good enough for anyone. Taken from www.warrens.net Investigating while pregnant is an interesting and touchy subject. Since the paranormal is such an open field and we are learning new things every day, it is more like opinions than actual facts.
Many believe it is a bad idea because the unborn child is more susceptible to the spirits and their energy. Others believe you are perfectly fine and the ghosts won’t do anything to affect the pregnancy or birth. My personal thoughts on this are, I wouldn’t do it, pure and simple. Not because I think the unborn child would become possessed by anything evil or negative, but for major safety reasons. A lot of the investigations we have all investigated are not the safest or the healthiest. We have investigated a few locations that the stability of the building, or staircases etc. was not safe, and another we later found out was infested with black mold. This is bad enough when we are health, but when one is pregnant, to me, why take the chance. Many believe woman are more susceptible when pregnant and are more in tuned with their surroundings or more sensitive and everything is more heightened during pregnancy. Everyone has their own opinion and it is your choice. I respect everyone’s decision but when anyone asks me about it, I tell them how I feel and say; enjoy your pregnancy and time away from the investigations. You will appreciate it more when you get back into the field. ~Jamie Pearce Founder Historic Haunts Investigations Jamie Pearce author and founder of Historic Haunts Investigations recently hosted a Relay for Life book Signing at the Coffee Bard in Mandarin to help raise money for her Relay for Life team. It was a rather slow day, the weather was too beautiful to be inside, but there will be a donation made to Pearce's Historic Haunts Relay for Life team in Orange Park Florida. Historic Haunts Investigations had the opportunity yet again to investigate the Old Clay county Courthouse on January 16th, 2015. Located in Green Cover Springs and built in 1889. It was recently featured in Jamie Pearce's 4th book, Historic Haunts of the South 2. If you are wanted to learn more about their experiences at the courthouse, check out the newest book in the Historic Haunts series. If you are wanting to have an experience of your own, contact the Clay County Archives and inquire about renting the facilities for yourself. The Mountaineer, The Guide October 22-28, 2014 The Balsam Mountain Inn sits at 3,500 feet in elevation looks out over a range of mountains. Construction on this amazing Inn started in 1905, and was undertaken by brothers-in-law Joseph Kennedy and Walter Christy. It began as a spacious 100 room hotel which was completed and opened in 1908. The hotel boasted beautiful views and 100 foot long porches with fresh spring water that many believed had “healing” properties. At the time the hotel opened (originally as the Balsam Springs Hotel), springs were extremely popular and many flocked here for the rejuvenating waters and the fresh mountain air. Unlike many other Inns that perished in the middle of the 20th century due to fires, negligence or age, the Balsam Mountain Inn withstood the test of time. That is until the late 1980s, when a declining number of guests and maintenance issues saw it go downhill fast and fall into disrepair. Merrily Teasley, an innkeeper from East Tennessee, spotted the hotel and bought it and began restoration. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places and has been beautifully restored. It is perhaps during these restorations, as is often the case, which the paranormal gets stirred up. My first paranormal experience at the inn was in 2000 at a Christmas party. I left the party for a few minutes to walk around and explore this grand hotel with my mom (who was attending the party with me). We heard footsteps ahead of us moving farther down the hallway. Curious, we went down the hallway to see who or what was causing it. We found no living person making the footsteps, and yet they inexplicably continued. We followed the sounds of the footsteps down the hall until they stopped. We also stopped, looked at each other, and looked up to see we were standing in front of Room #207. Amazed and excited we turned around to head back to the party. Just then the doorknob started to jiggle. No one came out of the room, but the footsteps began again as if someone had left from inside. The footsteps headed back down the hallway and towards the party and we followed them as we also headed back to the party. When we returned to the festivities we were still chatting about what we had experienced when a woman approached us. She was attending the party with her husband and mentioned that she was a little scared by the place. She said she was coming back from the restrooms when she heard someone following her down the hallway but when she turned no one was there. I started doing research on the location a couple of days later and found out what we experienced wasn’t anything new, in fact many others have reported it. The activity seems to focus around rooms #205 and #207. According to eyewitness reports and employee testimonials, there doesn't seem to be anything harmful causing the activity. From the descriptions it seems like residual energy. Perhaps whatever spirits still haunt the Inn, they are continuing to do their own thing, oblivious to everyone around them as they perform their habitual activity. Working with animals in any aspect is always a real pleasure for me, but working with animals in the paranormal field is even more exciting. Our cat Griffin, also our team mascot, has had many experiences of her own with my deceased cat Cosmo. She all the time is reacting to an unseen presence and she is always sensing Cosmo before I do. Funny thing, Cosmo used to sense the spirits in our old house and would react to them. Animals, just like children, are more susceptible to things because they haven’t been deprogrammed or told otherwise. When you think there is something paranormal going on, watch your pets and see how they react or what they are reacting to. |
