Did Hurricane Katrina Amp Up the Spirit World?

6/29/2015

Many believe that the weather does affect the paranormal field. They believe the spirit world draws energy from the atmosphere.

One account accord during Hurricane Katrina when a young man killed his girlfriend in a grizzly manor then killed himself. Many believe the hurricane stirred up the spirits in the very haunted French Quarter of New Orleans and drove him to it or took control of him to do something he would never do.

Several in the paranormal field, including myself, have seen heightened activity just before and during storms. So, saying the weather can affect the spirit world by giving them more energy is easily agreed upon and it might even weaken the living and be more easily controlled by the dead.

While author Jamie Pearce and founder of Historic Haunts Investigations was in town to investigate a local inn, she took the time to explore Colonial Williamsburg’s historic area for another CW addition to her Historic Haunts series.

Historic Haunts of the South III will feature more stories from Pearce’s former home town. Plus, Pearce was able to reconnect with Williamsburg Historic Haunts Investigations team members.

“It has always been hard for me to leave this historic city. It has and always will be home to me.” Pearce stated.

Make sure to keep an eye out for Pearce’s new books featuring more stories from the historic area.

Being a Goodwin Society Member

6/23/2015

What does it mean to be a Goodwin Society Member with Colonial Williamsburg? It means that you want to keep the past alive and preserve it for future generations to know how important Williamsburg was for our fight for independence during the Revolutionary War.

As a descendent of the Randolphs of Colonial Virginia and related to President Thomas Jefferson, I want others to know what Colonial Williamsburg is doing to preserve the past. They are keeping Dr. W.A.R. Goodwin’s words alive, “So that the future may learn from the past.”

Is Being Sensitive Hereditary?

6/23/2015

PictureJamie Pearce, post cognitive
Apparently being sensitive to the paranormal runs in my family! Through the years of doing research on my family tree and the paranormal, I have found this to be very true and here are the details.
Myself-post cognitive
My mother-pre cognitive
My grandmother-post cognitive
My great grandmother-pre cognitive

Plus I have found more signs of this even further back in our family history. If you are sensitive, start digging into your family history and see what you find. Old diaries, journals, letters, public records, or even family Bibles, who knows what you might discover, you will probably find out you are not alone with your abilities. Just remember while doing your research, decades ago, people weren’t as open to talking about these things so don’t be discouraged if you don’t find anything written down. Talk with your parents, grandparents, or anyone else in the family who will open up to you about the topic.

Jamie Pearce founder of Historic Haunts Investigations recently investigated the Chiswell Bucktrout House in Colonial Williamsburg. It will be featured in Pearce’s 6th book in her Historic Haunts series.
Pearce had heard many strange stories of murder, a man gone crazy then mysteriously found dead and couldn’t resist investigating a house with a past like that.
Be sure to keep an eye out for Historic Haunts of the South IV and hear the results of this investigation and the buildings fascinating history.

Fredericksburg Battlefield, Fredericksburg Virginia Investigation

While in Fredericksburg Virginia investigating Lavender Heights Bed and Breakfast for Pearce’s upcoming book she couldn’t resist pulling out a camera, digital recorder, and an EMF meter to explore the Fredericksburg Battlefield.
Pearce has always had an interest in the Civil War and with the connection the battle had with the inn she was investigating she has decided to also include the battle in the same book.
Make sure to order your copy of the book to read about both locations and the paranormal occurrences guests have experienced.

Patrick Henry's Scotchtown, Beaverdam Virginia Investigation

6/16/2015

Picture
I have always had a passion for the great Patrick Henry and when we headed to Virginia last week for investigations for an upcoming book, I could not pass up seeing Henry’s former home, Scotchtown.
I will be featuring this location in my 6th book for three reasons; #1 because it is indeed haunted and that is the main topic of my Historic Haunts series, #2 because I had a major paranormal experience while here with EMF readings at the same time, and #3 because I want future generations to know who Mr. Patrick Henry was and what all he did for us.
Sorry, but I will not be giving away any details, but if you are sensitive to things, be prepared before visiting Scotchtown and make sure you are well grounded before exploring it.

Historic Haunts Investigations Bowling Night

6/8/2015

Seven members of the Historic Haunts Investigations team got together for bowling night and to promote their paranormal services. Author/Founder Jamie Pearce finished with the second highest score and laughed, "Hunting ghosts is way easier than trying to hit those pins!"
Team building is very important to Pearce and getting the team together for fun events, fund raisers, and of course investigations.
