Many people have asked over the years how and where I do my research for my books. Well, one place I do research and most often, is at the locations and with the current owners/staff/residents. We also try to investigate as many locations as possible for the books. If we are unable to do an investigation we often times chat with the people who live and work there. Also, if there are other paranormal groups that have investigated there.
I also do research at historic societies, historic libraries, tax and land record offices, online, newspapers, etc. I try to thoroughly research all locations I write about and sometimes include the local legends or folklore.
I am also a genealogist and sometimes my work with this comes in handy finding out more about the people who lived, built, and worked there.
