Are You Or Someone You Know Experiencing A Haunting?
If you have experiences that are explainable, it could very well be a haunting. Please look below at the list of questions. If you answer yes to more than two of the questions you may be experiencing a haunting. Your next step should be to contact us!
Have you taken photos and captured strange light anomalies, strange balls of light, or even someone who wasn’t there?
Do you find that items in your home have been moved to a new location or just completely disappear and then reappear later?
Do you have pets that seem to stare at things that aren’t there or act disturb as if someone is there?
Do the lights or appliances turn on and off by themselves?
Have you ever seen misty shapes in your home?
Have you seen shadows moving out of the corner of your eyes?
Do you often hear unexplained sounds and footsteps from empty rooms?
Do you sometimes smell mysterious smells that you know aren’t being produced by anything in your home?
These are just a few things you may experience that could potentially be a haunting.
*If you think you are experiencing a haunting there are different things you can attempt on your own to try and rid yourself of the paranormal activities that are occurring. *
First of all, does it seem to be centered around a certain item? If so, try remove that item from the location where the activity is occurring and see if it stops.
Secondly, does it seem to be centered around one person? If it is a spirit, try asking it who it is and why is it trying to communicate with you. It might be looking for answers to something that you may be able to help them answer. If it isn't doing anything harmful there is nothing to be afraid of. Nine times out of ten a ghost will not hurt you.
Another thing, if it seems to be attached to one person and that person only, it could be a poltergeist. Often times poltergeist activity is caused by the living person that is experiencing the activity.
Third thing to try, if the entire family is experiencing the ghostly activity, try setting down as a family. Tell the spirit of spirits that it is your house and they need to move on. They are no longer in the same realm as us and they need to move on to the light.
If you are a religious person, you may want to try blessing your home.
You may also want to try cleansing your home. Burning sage through your home or office is a great way to eliminate any negative energy that may linger from past events or even spirits.
If these things don't work, please contact us by emailing us at historichaunts@yahoo.com . We will try and answer your questions and help, if we are unavailable or if you are way out of our area, we can find a group in your area that can to help you.

Meet The Historic Haunts Team
Dr. Jamie Pearce PhD Founder/Lead Investigator/Author
Jamie was born in St. Petersburg, FL and had her first experience when she was very young. She has had a passion for the paranormal ever since.
She has been investigating the paranormal on a regular basis since she was 15 years old and decided to form her own group in 2004. She wanted to help people in need and educate others about the field. She also has her PhD in Parapsychology.
Jamie is an intuitive and she is post cognitive which means she sees things from the past. That isn't always a pleasant experience. She also ordained and is a genealogist which has led her to find that interest in the paranormal runs many generations back in her family tree. Even to the extent of finding ancestors that are still haunting, years after their departure from this mortal life. Pearce has published 5 books so far in her Historic Haunts series with 2 more coming out in mid 2020.

Things That Occur When Experiencing A Haunting
Ghostly activity can be seasonal, becoming more active during the months of October through February and less active or not active at all during the months of March through September. It depends on the location of and the circumstance of the haunting. In some cases the same events occur over and over again the same time everyday whether any one is there or not.
From my experiences, thunder or electrical storms seem to make the spirit world much more active. Ghosts are more likely to manifest if the air is dry. Ion generators charge the air with positive particles that may supply energy for ghosts to manifest. Many air cleaners/purifiers send out an ionic stream that may contribute to manifestations.
Spirits can draw energy from electrical appliances, the atmosphere and from people. Fear and anger are two very powerful emotions from which a spirit may draw energy. If there is a lot of emotional stress in a home that is haunted, the spirit could be drawing from the negative emotional energy. Our emotions may affect spirits the same way they do people. They also can draw energy from electrical storms. There are a lot of reports of haunted buildings being much more haunted during a storm.
Spirits can attach themselves to a person, place or object. In most cases, ghosts were people too. They are just no longer constrained to physical bodies like we are. When they attach themselves to a particular person it could be because it was a family member or friend in life or they just feel a strong connection to that person. Or better yet, they could have a message that want delivered and want to use that person to get their point across.
Certain breeds of animal seem to be more susceptible to the paranormal as well. Research has proven that some breeds of dogs and cats are more aware of what supernatural beings are around us.
Though sometimes spirits may not communicate well with us, they know what we say and do. So whenever you are speaking of a spirit who may be present, be respectful when doing so.

Who haunts the Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast, Covington, GA
The ghost investigators that left this morning had some interesting things to say about the house. Jamie Pearce is the investigator and author who writes about haunted places; she contacted us and asked if she could come and she came at her own expense from Florida. She was really down to earth and a genuinely nice person. They said that they had the longest conversation they've ever had with a ghost here...lasted 40 minutes and the ghost would respond yes or no by turning on the flashlight. Parker was a little scared so we were downstairs asleep. She said that the ghost she talked to was a woman from the mid-1800's who lost a child in the house. They asked her if she knew who the ghost on the 3rd floor is that people in the past have called "the General" and she answered yes, but that was all they could get from her on that. They also said they were walking by the pool and got a reading and stopped walking and heard footsteps just behind them that kept on for a step or two after they stopped. They were really excited about all their findings and she plans to include it in her next book on haunted inns. They said that the ghost they talked to (the woman ghost) said (via yes and no with the flashlight) that she really likes us and likes what we've done to the house. She wasn't trying to scare any workers when we were doing the renovations, she was just interested in what they were doing. They said she was a really nice ghost. As I've said before, I haven't really experienced anything in the house other than good, positive feelings and vibes...once I felt like someone was watching us when I was reading a book to Parker, but then that might not have been anything. But lots of the workers and the overnight security guard for the commercial filming all say they've experienced things. John has heard footsteps when he was the only one here. It was pretty fun. Parker is now asking for equipment like the ghost hunters had for Christmas...

I want to thank Historic Haunts Investigations for investigating my home and making me realize just because I do have a ghost in my home, there is no reason for me to be scared of it. They helped me to discover who my ghost is and that he is not there to harm me, and that he is only hear to keep an eye on the house he so loved in life and isn't ready to leave it just yet.Thank you so much for all you do. They were very professional and discreet which I highly appreciate since people in my neighborhood are not open to the paranormal existence.

Thank you so much to the folks at Historic Haunts Investigations. I am so glad I bumped into Jamie, someone I could actually talk to about what my family and I was experiencing in our home. They came out and helped our spirit be a bit more at rest and much quieter, especially at night. They were very helpful to us and we all get a much better nights sleep. Thank you very much :o)

Ha! I knew I wasn't crazy. My family and friends all thought I was a little nutty believing I had a ghost in my house. If you don't believe me just ask the people at Historic Haunts, they can tell you. After doing their interviews and investigating the house they determined that my house is haunted, something called place memory. Thanks alot for helping me understand the difference in having a ghost and being haunted.

Historic Haunts Investigations discovered who was haunting our home and was actually able to help the spirit move on to the other side. Since the team visited our home and helped the spirit cross over into the light our house has been perfectly quiet and peaceful. Thank you so much for what you do.

We live in the most haunted city in America and when we moved in and started experiencing strange things and noises we automatically figured it was a ghost. We called Jamie and her and her team came out and did a full investigation. They found that we were NOT haunted. There was a squirrel in our attic!! They don't do squirrel removals but my husband did and now we aren't experiencing anything out of the ordinary. Even though we were not haunted the team was very professional and didn't make us feel like complete idiots. Thank you so much for finding our "paranormal" problem.

Jamie Pearce, founder of Historic Haunts was a real life saver for my son. He has been having issues sleeping for months and having night terrors and nothing I have done has helped. He kept telling me something was attacking him in his sleep. After speaking with Jamie and listening to her suggestions and her talking with my son he is sleeping like a kitten. He says he has never slept so well for as long as he can remember.
Thank you so much!!

We have been trying to sell our home for a very long time. We have always known we had a resident ghost in our house and weren't moving because of him. We were just ready to move on. We called Mrs. Pearce and asked her for any suggestions and she said she had been through this before. If we didn't mind the ghost moving with us, just let him know he could come too. We did just what Mrs. Pearce suggested and wouldn't you know it, our house sold just a few days later....and our ghost came with us. Thank you so much Historic Haunts for your help!

Historic Haunts St. Augustine Tours Testimonials
We have to book at least a month or more in advance, but a ghost tour in St. Augustine is only a REAL ghost tour if Parapsychologist and published Historic Haunts author, Dr. Jamie Pearce is leading the way. I have been fortunate enough to secure Jamie for a few guided tours, for multi-age home school students, through some of St. Augustine, Florida's most well known, and not so well known, haunted spots. She didn't only bring our walking tours to life, she brought the ghosts to life! I've heard more than one student say they felt like a ghost hunter after Jamie armed them with equipment like an EMF reader. Jamie is a consummate professional, that manages to keep kids, and adults alike, fascinated and engaged while being cognizant of varying fears and sensitivities within the group. If you're lucky enough to have an opportunity for Jamie to lead a ghost tour, in any city, then I highly recommend you jump right on it! She does not disappoint! If you're like the attendees of my tours then you'll end your tour feeling educated and entertained! It's an honor and always fantastic for us to tour with Jamie. Much gratitude for you Jamie!
